When Walt Whitman wrote the ending of his poem “O me O life” he was overflowing with confidence.
But today we know what you’re thinking.
“Really? May?”
Because even when we are struck by the wisdom of the poet and understand that life is the most powerful drama we should participate in, times are uncertain and sometimes we seem to lose hope regarding our own contribution.
But we must not despair. We can certainly contribute a new and unique verse; we just have to know how to do it in the times we are living (this is not 1850 anymore).
First, you are not alone. There are many of us struggling against the increasing prevalence of precarious jobs, political instability, and other forms of insecurity. Which means there’s a positive side to this: as we grow in number, so does our potential to influence social and political change.
Second, we are becoming increasingly aware of our collective identity and shared struggles. This awareness leads to stronger advocacy for the rights and reforms needed to address our precarious conditions in our precarious world.
It’s true that we often exist outside traditional labor unions and political structures, but that allows us to challenge the status quo in new and more innovative ways.
Furthermore, the widespread use of technology allows us to organize and mobilize more effectively. Online platforms can be used to share information, coordinate actions, and ultimately build solidarity across geographical and class boundaries.
Finally, we are a global phenomenon, composed of individuals from different countries and cultures. This perspective can foster international collaboration, enabling us to undertake broader and more significant changes on a worldwide scale.

So, we see not just one, but many verses emerging from here… In fact, we see entire poems created by us together, with which we could enhance the “powerful play of life”.
Lets keep, therefore, the gaze fix in that unconquered land we call “the future”.
And let’s attack it with all we have.
