You probably know the saying.
“Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans.”
It means that no matter how much we plan or how much control we try to exert, we will never really be in charge of what is going to happen.
But that doesn’t mean that we have to stop dreaming.
After all, planning, trying to control what is going to happen, is also a form of dreaming.
Dreaming that the things that have deserved our time and attention, whether because we consider them good or important, will finally happen; dreaming that what we have worked so hard for will eventually bear fruit.
To plan, we necessarily have to have hope. And to have hope, we must distance ourselves as much as possible from any philosophy or person that wants to turn us into victims of the times we live in.
Like so many people in their times, we are warriors. We have to be.
Because only from that point of real empowerment can we imagine a better world, we can dedicate efforts to things that make sense instead of things that don’t.
And we can adapt and reinvent ourselves in case God laughs at our plans and forces us to change them.
