In 1968, the architect, inventor and futurist Richard Buckminster Fuller wrote a little book titled “Operation manual for spaceship Earth”.
In it, the author evokes the image of planet Earth as a spaceship sailing through space in which we, humanity, are its crew.
Almost sixty years later, “Operation manual for spaceship Earth” remains an ode to the interconnectedness of humanity and the importance of responsible stewardship of the planet, a powerful reminder that we depend on each other for survival. It’s still accurate in its predictions and moving in its intentions but, unfortunately, it didn’t change much.
Today, the notion that “we are all in the same boat” seems to resonate less than ever. Although we all intellectually understand what the problem is, ideologies, nationalities, preconceived ideas, and even habits, lead us to focus more on our differences instead of on what makes us alike.
That’s why we need a new community.
We need a new community that is impartial enough to bring together unlikely partners, and open enough to ensure that all these partners – us – have a job to do, through which each perspective adds up.
We need a new community that is agile in its functioning, ambitious in its goals; modern and enjoyable for everyone who decides to participate.
We need a community connected to real resources, capable of really improving the world in more than one direction, and able to verify those improvements in an irrefutable way.
This is what HUMANSDID is.
HUMANSDID is a global project that seeks participation of anyone interested in improving the world, a platform that connects brands and citizens, so they both can transcend their historical roles and come united as human beings, each contributing our unique strengths and perspectives.
Through HUMANSDID, the best brands in the world step up as drivers and facilitators of change, working on better initiatives and leveraging the resources for the greater good, while recognizing us as “partners”.
We, citizens, on the other hand, are able now to go beyond being mere product buyers to become active participants, allies in the responsibility and beneficiaries in the rewards of creating a better world.
So, this is a call to unite wills. Wills that want to improve the world in the first place, but also to put an end to the decentralized realm of rhetorical marketing through real action.
The first of these actions you’ve already done: you’ve included your name among the ones that are part of the HUMANSDID community. Trust us, being among the first will be worth it in the future; we are already in the process of polishing the platform, while evaluating projects from the most motivated and conscious brands in the world.
That is, the reason we needed a new community is to work on improving the “big community”; with new dynamics, new words, and new partners.
Whatever needs to change, so we can keep being HUMANS.
